Longview, Benton County, Washington : ウィキペディア英語版 | Longview, Benton County, Washington
Longview is an unincorporated historic community in Benton County, Washington, United States, located approximately three miles west of Umatilla, Oregon on the north bank of the Columbia River, just above Devil's Bend Rapids.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Washington Place Names database )〕 The community was originally called Gravel because of the abundance of gravel found in the area. The name was changed to Francis, and then later to Tuton by the Spokane, Portland and Seattle Railway. The name Tuton was often confused with the town of Luzon in Benton County, so the name was finally changed to Longview, because of the "long" view of Columbia River from the community's location.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Station Roster Master List: Longview )〕 In October 1922 the town was renamed to Barger to avoid confusion with the city of Longview in Cowlitz County, Washington. Finally, on November 23, 1943, the name was changed to King.〔〔 ==References==
